Working Principle of Surge Arresters

Customized batch production of gapless composite zinc oxide surge arresters, widely used in power distribution, photovoltaic, energy storage, mining, and power transmission projects to suppress lightning overvoltages and operational overvoltages, thereby safeguarding the insulation of transformers, switchgear and electrical equipment.

The devices remain in a high-resistance, insulated state under normal conditions, causing no disruption to the normal operation of the power grid; when subjected to overvoltage, they instantly switch to a low-resistance conductive state, rapidly diverting lightning currents to earth and clamping residual system voltages; once the voltage returns to normal, they automatically revert to their insulated state, with no residual current or risk of short circuits. They are completely maintenance-free throughout their service life and offer stable and reliable operation.
