Transformer project background and customer needs
In the first half of 2024, Vietnam’s manufacturing industry continued the global supply chain transfer dividend, Long An Province, east of Ho Chi Minh City, the new industrial park ushered in 12 foreign-funded electronics and textile factories concentrated in the area. However, the saturated capacity of the existing power grid in the area, with large voltage fluctuations, serious harmonic pollution and other problems, can not meet the stable power supply needs of precision manufacturing equipment – precision instruments in electronics factories require a voltage stability of no more than ± 1% error, while textile factories production lines need a continuous and stable power supply to avoid fabric weaving defects. In the textile factory, the production line needs a constant and stable power supply to avoid fabric weaving defects, and the old transformer frequently suffered from overheating, tripping and unstable voltage, which seriously affected the factory’s production efficiency.
The EPC finally chose Jinma Electric after inspecting a total of 8 local suppliers in China and Vietnam. The customer clearly put forward three core requirements: first, the equipment must comply with Vietnam’s power grid standards (60Hz), with extremely low no-load loss and load loss, in line with the Vietnamese government’s green energy-saving policy; second, in Vietnam’s high-temperature and high humidity (average summer temperatures of more than 35 ℃, the rainy season humidity of up to 90%) in the environment of long-term maintenance-free operation to reduce the cost of on-site operation and maintenance; third, the delivery cycle is extremely demanding, requiring from the contract to the installation of the plant. Thirdly, the delivery cycle is extremely harsh, requiring no more than 25 days from signing to shipment to ensure that the factory in the industrial park is put into operation on time.

Analysis of technical highlights
1. ultra-low loss design: adopting 130-type high-quality oriented silicon steel sheet, compared with the traditional S11 series, no-load loss is reduced by 30%, load loss is reduced by 20%, it is estimated that 15 transformers can save more than 100,000 kWh of electricity for the park every year, and reduce the electricity bill of the customer by about 8,000 US dollars every year, which is fully in line with Vietnam’s green energy-saving policy, and it also reduces the customer’s operation cost.
2. fully sealed structure: corrugated oil tank design, completely eliminate transformer oil contact with air, prevent oil oxidation and moisture, effectively avoid iron core, coil corrosion, to ensure that 30 years of operation life without replacement of transformer oil, significantly reduce the customer’s operation and maintenance workload and operation and maintenance costs.
3. Adapt to hot and humid environment: coil and iron core are through a special vacuum drying moisture-proof treatment, tank surface spraying three layers of anticorrosive and antirust paint (primer + paint + top coat), verified by the salt spray test, can be in the long term humidity of 85%, the temperature of 45 ℃ stable operation of the environment, a complete solution to the rainy season in Vietnam, the equipment is subject to moisture, corrosion of the industry’s pain points.
Manufacturing and quality control process
As a professional transformer manufacturer, Golden Horse Electric strictly implements ISO9001 quality management system and carries out 18 strict inspections from raw materials entering the factory to finished products leaving the factory to ensure that each piece of equipment meets international standards and customers’ requirements, the specific processes are as follows:
1. raw materials testing: silicon steel sheet, insulation materials, transformer oil are from the industry’s well-known suppliers (silicon steel sheet selection of Baosteel, insulation materials selection of DuPont), are provided with the original certificate of conformity, and by the Golden Horse Electrical Laboratory for sampling and re-inspection, unqualified raw materials resolutely eliminate into the factory.
2. Core system production: vacuum drying process, the core will be placed in a vacuum environment drying 48 hours, to ensure that the core without moisture; coil using vacuum casting process, to prevent the coil internal air bubbles, to enhance the insulation properties of the coil, to avoid insulation breakdown problems in the later operation.
3. Factory test: each transformer must pass 7 core tests, such as voltage ratio test, DC resistance test, insulation dielectric strength test, induction withstand voltage test, no-load test, load test, temperature rise test, etc. All the test data are recorded, and a detailed test report is issued along with the shipment, which ensures that the quality of the equipment can be traced.
Efficient delivery and logistics program
In order to meet the customer’s delivery requirements of 25 days, Jinma Electric started the green channel for overseas projects, set up a special project team, and clarified the time nodes of each link to ensure efficient promotion:
1. production cycle: optimize the production process, using parallel production mode, 20 days to complete the assembly and commissioning of all 15 transformers, 5 days shorter than the conventional production cycle, to ensure that the production task is completed on time.
2. Packing solution: adopt customized export wooden box + waterproof and rainproof cloth double packaging, wooden box choose high strength solid wood, internal filling shockproof foam, the transformer will be fixed firmly to prevent collision and moisture during long-distance sea transportation, to ensure the safety of equipment transportation.
3. Logistics arrangement: on September 18, 2024, the goods were shipped from Qingdao port, choosing the sea route directly to Ho Chi Minh City, the whole journey without transit, and arrived safely at the destination port on September 28, the whole journey took only 10 days, 3 days earlier than the customer’s expectation, reserving enough time for the customer’s on-site installation and commissioning.
Project Effectiveness and Customer Feedback
The equipment was installed and commissioned in mid-October 2024, after three months of stable operation, all the data meet the design standards, the specific results are as follows:
1. operation stability: the noise of transformer operation is lower than 55dB, far lower than the national standard (65dB), meeting the environmental protection requirements of industrial parks, and will not cause noise pollution to the neighboring factories and the environment.
2. Voltage stability: voltage stability increased to 99.8%, completely solved the previous voltage fluctuation problem, electronic factories precision instruments operating error control within ± 0.5%, textile factories production line yield increased by 2%, for customers to reduce the loss due to product defects.
3.
